10/28 Dress Code? *(100)

The movement toward uniforms in public schools has spread to about a quarter of all elementary schools. Experts say that the number of middle and high schools with uniforms is about half the number of elementary schools. If uniforms are intended to curb school violence and improve academics, why are they not more prevalent in middle and high schools, where these goals are just as important as in elementary schools? The debate over uniforms in public schools encompasses many larger issues than simply what children should wear to school.
It touches on issues of school improvement, freedom of expression and the "culture wars." It's no wonder the debate rages on.For the past decade, schools, parents and students have clashed over the issue of regulating student attire.Meanwhile, researchers are divided over how much of an impact - if any - dress policies have upon student learning. I feel like high schools are often compared unfavorably to Catholic schools. the pros to uniform are:

Help prevent gangs from forming on campus
Encourage discipline
Help students resist peer pressure to buy trendy clothes
Help identify intruders in the school
Diminish economic and social barriers between students
Increase a sense of belonging and school pride

the cons are:

Violate a student's right to freedom of expression
Are simply a Band-Aid on the issue of school violence
Make students a target for bullies from other schools
Are a financial burden for poor families
Are an unfair additional expense for parents who pay taxes for a free public education

I feel like uniform is unnecessary to high school because most student are growing to be adults. i want to feel like I'm in control of my clothing its already difficult that most parents control their lives,why is it so crazy that we can't even control our on clothing? Also, most students that are adults in high school should wear what that person want to were. feel like if their is going to be uniform their should be a age limit on it.

HTML Basics 1

Introduction
What is HTML?
HTML is short for Hyper Text Markup Language.
What does HTML stand for? Hyper Text Markup Language.
What type of document is HTML? HTML document is a plain text file
What happens when a browser opens an HTML file? When a browser opens an HTML file, the browser will look for HTML codes in the text and use them to change the layout, insert images, or create links to other pages.
What does the acronym WYSIWYG stand for? ("What You See Is What You Get")
What do you think is the advantage of using a WYSIWYG editor? You can create pages more or less as you write documents in Word or whatever text editor you're using.
WHY LEARN HTML?
Why do you need to know HTML? If you want to make it above average in webdesign.
What are three benefits of knowing HTML?

You can use tags the editor does not support.
You can read the code of other people's pages, and "borrow" the cool effects.
You can do the work yourself, when the editor simply refuses to create the effects you want.

TAGS
What is another name for a Tag? A markup is another word for tag.
Why are tags used? To tell the browser that the letter or symbol should be bold.
What do you use to enclose HTML Tags? Indicates that the browser should stop writing text in bold.
What is the difference between a start tag and an end tag? the start tag indicates that whatever follows should be written in bold. The corresponding end tag indicates that the browser should stop writing text in bold.

10/24 Portable devices

I think most student i school's that allow portable devices are distracted by the device, but the others aren't. The students that are distracted most likely are very mobile device friendly; with Facebook, twitter, and etc. The others that aren't distracted may not be device friendly or they can just ignore the fact of being distracted by the device. When I'm outside i see that people are distracted because a lot of people text and walk at the same time. Most people were getting hit by cars and creating accidents. Most states even have laws against text and walking. A lot of teachers don't like the mobile devices because they also feel that they are distracting to students.

10/21 My Tablet

i think the tablet will help us do homework and anything else potable wise. my opinion on the tablet is that most teachers would be very frustrated with the students that are using the tablets. but they wouldn't be able to do anything because the school advised it. i could tell what teacher was against the tablets because the tell you in some sort of way that they don't like it.
One teacher that i had told a student i don't know why they got those things it would only distract you from doing things in class. that just showed me that that person was against having the tablets in school.i think that the tablets can do both but the teachers wanted this to because most of them are very lazy. they don't want to check anything so they wanted the tablets.

You should never send emails,texts,or IM's when your upset to another person because you are letting that person get the best out of you. The best thing to show someone is no response. if you do that it would get them so angry they would start to just send you more stuff. after that the best thing you should do is block or delete that person's number. if that doesn't work just saved the text and emails , then tell someone that you trust to a person that you trust.

10/10 Personal Credo

I think Steve jobs had the best career in the computer industry. he provided half of America with Apple and different software. He even showed you how to use these products. He was the main person to introduce any device that apple was making. He was also the co-founder of apple.

My principles are to be very ambitious and keep going until that door opens. i believe that everyone has an opportunity in this world, so do you best. i also believe in support as well. to me anyone who supports you gives you courage in anything you do. that person might help you and also give you good advice.

my credo is try hard and never give up. By myself following my credo it can help me in life. my life is very difficult as it is so that's why this is my credo.It helps me get to my goals in life.

10/17 Make-Up Monday

one time i tried my hardest at a assignment that my art teacher gave me. to me it was the best work that i ever had. it actually took me a very long time to do this project i took it up to him and he told me it was the wrong project. i was very mad because it took me a very long time with this assignment,he told me it was a old assignment but he was going to give me extra credit so i started to feel alright. i could have avoided this by paying attention to what the teacher was telling me and i wouldn't have felt any type of way.

My blog could help me by showing others my thoughts on any question or assignment. my blog lets me add people and show others what i think. most people choose to comment on my post and i do the same to there post.Most of my questions be important in many ways and i answer the question the way i feel and that what i would think about the question at the time. to me the blogger thing is to show the teachers and others how our brain malfunction on question that are important.

10/19 Too Much TV

i think all children of all ages should watch TV its just someone has to supervise what the child is watching. my little brother watches nick Jr. its a show that shows series of cartoons for children 7 and under. so if the child watches thee shows they would be able to learn more about things that kids should be learning and the some. some shows show you how to spell, numbers, shapes, and the show plays good music for the child to dance to. There isn't much rules in my house so we watch whatever we want but most of the time we are playing the game, but if we aren't playing the game we are just chilling.

10/3 Computerized HSPA?

i think they should keep the hspa test the way it is because the computer wouldn't help anyone anyways. if the put the hspa on the computer it just shows that they car more about being more techno. i think the student would do the same because they school just switched and put the test on the computer.i would prefer to do it the standard way because it doesn't really make any difference.

10/4 HSPA Graduation?

i think that passing the hspa should be a requirement for graduation because it showed that your knowledge is good enough for you to be in college. most people just be in school and don't learn anything. i think people shouldn't care about taking the s.a.t because i really don't see the purpose.i think other test just showed that you learned something in class.

it shows that the users do really care for each other. it most be a problem for both users if they disrespected each other over the internet. i laugh when other people play each other online because others can see what your saying to each other. it isn't like it is a private conversation between each other its for the public to see. so i really don't care if other play each other on the internet because its just humor to me.

Steve jobs helps the world with technology period. i feel that Steve made technology for business and style. most of his gadgets that were made are brought buy everyone in the world. his creation changed the world because it helped a lot of people communicate with other, travel with music,and look for other on the internet. if it wasn't for him creating better computers a lot of people wouldn't be were they are today.

i think if i ever put something bad on the internet my family would say something, or my mother would call me. Even if its something that isn't any harm my mother would call me and ask me what happen or whats going on. So my family and my parents would be more concerned on how i feel about anything. i feel that it showed that my parents are lie consulars i my life.

Today we watched a video about football teams and twitter. in the video they talked about twitter and what it brings to the game of football. it showed that their is a contract with the players about being on twitter before the game, and most of the players got fined because they didn't follow the contract. like chad ochocinco , and other players. the video also showed hat the NFL has over 2 million followers. the video also showed that twitter helps most of the players. it also showed that twitter is like the media, because is tells you how the players feel before they even get interviewed.

10/12 Anonymity

i think anonymity should be protected sometimes because if someone you haven't seen in a long time is looking for you or the other way around and both of you will be mad. i think they should really be worried about someone having their real name because most perverts are younger than they are supposed to be. i think it is both a good and bad thing. one day i went to look myself up on the internet and they gave a website that would give myself all the information about me, that's the bad thing. the good thing is that friends and family could be looking for you. if someone doesn't have their real name on the internet is because they don't want to be found or another bad reason.

10/11 Youth Hackers

i think it is a harmless prank for me to find a friends logged on the computer, but not someone i don't know. if i found a computer that was logged in on a computer i would just log them out because i wouldn't want anyone to do that to me. i say that because i believe in karma. if someone found me logged in the computer i would want them to log me out but i know they wouldn't because most people aren't like me.
